Bachillerato Internacional

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers a continuum of international education programs, developing and enhancing best practices from a wide variety of curricula. The IB programs encourage students to achieve their academic and personal goals, helping them excel not only in their studies but also in their personal growth. The profile of our IB students is distinguished by their commitment to helping all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others, and the world around them.

Primary Years Programme – PYP (Ages 3 to 12)

The PYP provides students with enriching learning experiences, allowing them to express their opinions, question, collaborate, think for themselves, and take responsibility for their own learning through an inquiry-based approach.

By developing the attributes of the IB learner profile, students also learn to show respect for themselves and others while cultivating an international mindset. They work together toward common goals and take action to bring about positive changes, contributing to a better and more peaceful world.

The PYP integrates local and global themes into the curriculum, requiring students to explore six transdisciplinary themes and examine their connections:

"Who we are"
"Where we are in place and time"
"How we express ourselves"
"How the world works"
"How we organize ourselves"
"Sharing the planet"

Middle Years Programme (MYP):

An excellent preparation for academic success and lifelong active learning, the MYP is designed for students aged 11 to 16. It provides a learning framework that encourages students to become creative, critical, and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students to make connections between the traditional subjects they study and the real world. It fosters the development of communication skills, intercultural understanding, and global engagement—essential qualities for tomorrow’s leaders.

Personal Project
The Personal Project allows students to engage in an independent, age-appropriate exploration of a personal area of interest. Throughout the process of inquiry, action, and reflection, students are encouraged to demonstrate and strengthen their approaches to learning skills. The project must be personal, as it allows students to explore an area that motivates and interests them. They choose what they want to focus on (which can be a current or new interest) and how they will achieve their goal, while also creating their own success criteria for the final product. The project provides students with an excellent opportunity to create a truly personal, often creative, product and to demonstrate a consolidation of their learning in the MYP, further supporting their development as lifelong learners.

Diploma Programme – DP (Ages 16-18)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is an educational program with its own assessment system, designed for students aged 16 to 19. It offers a broad and balanced education aimed at developing students who achieve both depth and breadth in their knowledge, while also growing physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. The DP curriculum consists of six subject groups and three core components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay.

These core components encourage students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, undertake independent research, and engage in a project that often involves community service activities.
